After a few years of marriage, when life becomes dull and mundane, one often wonders why the romance has fizzled out. Love gradually takes a back seat as responsibilities take over which leads to dissatisfaction and boredom. We unearth ways on how to ignite that feeling of being in love again.
Give words to Feelings
How many times do we actually express our love for each other a few years after marriage? How many times do we actually praise our spouse when he or she does something good or makes an extra effort? As one gets busy with daily chores and life becomes a routine, feelings are seldom expressed. One of the basic reasons given for this is that 'doesn't everything I do for you express my love, do I really have to say it too?’ Yes, one has to say it out loud. You have to take love as a verb rather than a feeling and express it. The simple realisation that someone loves you and finds you beautiful is a major turn-on.
Turn on the Charm
Forget everything that your mother told you about inner beauty. Men always find beautiful women attractive. So in order to rekindle that magic, take out the special wand we call make-up and be beautiful. Yes, be ready for him all decked up when he comes home from office. Good-looking people are considered smarter, sexier and more successful than their homelier counterparts. A husband prefers telly-viewing rather than spending time with his wife if she is harried and full of complaints. So shed the haggard look and turn on the charm if you want that idiot turned off.
Embrace Love
Never underestimate the power of touch. You can embrace lifelong love through it. Little gestures, in this regard, go a long way. Holding hands and giving each other hugs create a strong romantic bond among the spouses. Couples should never let go of these 'sweet little nothings' for they ensure everlasting love.
The flower Power
Flowers speak volumes when it comes to the expression of love. You don't have to give an over-priced bouquet, a simple rose can do the trick. Furthermore, and I speak from experience, when you stop at a signal and see those little boys selling motiya garlands and bangles; get a couple for your wife. This uncalled gesture will bring a lot of happiness for her showing that you acknowledge her and that you care. Later on, you can stick them to your air conditioner’s vent and the room will remain fragrant for days.
Radiate Happiness
Be an epitome of bliss. Smile more. Better still, smile at each other. It is a curve that puts a lot of things straight. It also generates a feeling of well-being and makes you ready to face life afresh.
Celebrate Life!
Make special efforts for each other such as a candlelit dinner for just the two of you. And it shouldn't be only the husband making the effort. A wife can also do so without any special reason. Spare time for just the two of you. Be friends before being each other's spouse and life would be a bed of roses.
Listen and Share
Let ego and obstinacy go out of the window the day you get married. Now you have to be flexible to make room for the other partner. Sometimes life will go your way, sometimes it does not. Make adjustments - and not just the wife but the husband should be accomodating as well. Listen to her, console her and love her even if you cannot do anything about her problems. The fact that there is someone to hear her out will make her adjustment in the new home smooth.
