[Testimonial by Usman Ghani for #AzadiSquare Movement]
Assalam-u-Alaikum !
I am Usman Ghani BBA (Hons.) student from Lahore. I belong to a family who were never into the politics and such movements. We always loved Imran Khan and respected his work and vision for Pakistan, but never used to take active part in anything related to politics because we always thought that Imran Khan is good, his team is fantastic too but they won't adjust in this system and won't be able to influence the system that's maligned by the so called Democrats to make sure that their supremacy is never challenged and they keep taking turns. We never used to vote, only my father would vote for some friend, no matter which party he was representing, thinking that it does not matter anyways.
Like many other families, it was the first time that the whole family went to cast vote in NA-122 directly to IK, even my 80+ years old grandmother who was seeing all the election campaigns with so much interest and decided to play her part, for the very first time in her life by casting a vote, with strong belief that IK will finally do what no one did for this country. She always talked about the corrupt leaders with hatred because she knows much more than people of our generation will ever know. My grandma was the first "CHANGE" I witnessed in 2013 elections.
The day Khan Sahib fell from the lift, that was the first time in my life, I saw people so worried for a politician. Everyone was in a shock and it was like some close family member was hurt. I was noticing my family members sitting still in front of the television, and all of them had tears in their eyes. That was something new for me because I always loved Khan Sahib because of his Cricket Legacy, but I never imagined that my whole family is inspired this much by the Charismatic Khan Sahib.
Coming quickly to these Dharnas now, this "Azaadi March" is the very first occasion of my life when I am daily going to either Laalik Jan Chowk or Liberty Roundabout(wherever we are told by PTI team) with full permission from my family. It has become like a regular part of the routine. My family and a lot of friends also joined me some times but whatever is planned or happening around, no one asks me to miss Dharna. This is another big "CHANGE" I feel, thanks to Khan Sahib again.
Going in such Dharnas was never a priority but now it is, because I feel that this is our only chance. if we sit back now, we'll not find a leader who will stand for us like Imran Khan. We'll never find a leader so passionate about us, the people of Pakistan. As he often says, that if nothing is changed, it won't affect his life, he has everything he needs for a luxurious life Alhamdulillah, but we will suffer, our generations will suffer. We'll live as slaves of the Western Powers all our lives.
At last I have a very humble request to all Pakistani people. We have to stand with Khan Sahib until we get the AZAADI, our personal routines can be sacrificed for a better long term but I just want to say that please, please don't forget the IDPs and now the Flood Affectees. They are our brothers and sisters who are going through very difficult times. We have to keep them in mind and keep helping them in whatever way we can.
I feel more and more proud of Imran Khan and PTI when someone starts arguing with me and has absolutely nothing logical to say against IK or any of our leaders. Leaders like IK, Asad Umar, Murad Saeed, Ali Muhammad, Naz Baloch, Ayesha Gulalei, Abrar-ul-Haq, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Parvez Khattak, Dr. Arif Alvi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid etc. etc. are proud assets of Pakistan. Keep standing Tall with all of them and they will never disappoint us InshaAllah ...... They are the last hope for us !
